Skincare
Like most people I struggle with finding the perfect combination of products for my skin, especially around this time of year when my skin is recovering for the festive huge amounts of food and the cold winds.
I can go from having completely oily skin one day, to having dry flaky skin the next. Here are the products I use daily to help keep my skin tight smooth and healthy!
Dark Angels
Dark Angels is my favourite cleanser from Lush. Not only because it matches the colour of my soul, but because it is a charcoal based cleanser. Charcoal is great for deep cleansing, it helps draw our blackheads. Charcoal is also great for oily skin and not a lot of people realise this but its also equally good for dry skin. With the added black sugar this cleanser is also a great exfoliator. Dark Angels is great for brightening dull oily skin and improving acne, whiles being gentle enough for sensitive skin.
Not only does this product feel and smell amazing but it is also 100% vegan!
Mask Of Magnaminty (Self-Preserving)
For me this is a fantastic all-rounder face mask, its feels amazing and fresh on the skin. If you are prone to acne this mask will really help you out! Not only is this a face mask but Mask Of Magnaminty is a body mask. I sometimes suffer from back and chest acne and after using this mask I have been completely clear of spot on my body.
This mask is a clay based mask and contains peppermint while also working as an exfoliator, so I would definitely avoid if you have sensitive skin. If you are unsure you can always pop into your local Lush store and ask for a sample. They're always so knowledgeable and happy to help if you are unsure on a product. :)
I really only tend to use this when my skin is more on the oily side as clay can sometimes be quite drying.
Unlike Lushes other face masks, this one is Self-Preserving so there's no need to keep in in the fridge.
Tea Tree Water
I've been using this toner for as long as I can remember. As many people are aware tea tree is fantastic for acne prone skin. this tone is also infused with grapefruit, which helps to balance the skin, keep up with skin health and cleanness. This toner has a very herby smell instead of a fresh minty smell.
There's two ways which I use this toner, the first way is to spray it on to a cotton pad and gently swipe across your face. The other way is to spray directly on to the face. I tend to spray 5-6 times.
I have recently tried this as a makeup setting spray and it definitely works! Just don't hold the bottle to close to your face.
I love this toner so much and ever since using it I get a lot less blemishes on my face!
Imperialis
This moisturiser is one of my favourites.
Imperialis is on the heavier side but I would say it is definitely suitable for combination skin, it leaves your skin feeling hydrated and moisturised without leaving your skin feeling clogged.
A little of this product goes a long way and I find it absorbs really well into my skin. Like most of Lushs products it has a lovely herbal scent, this moisturiser contains lavender so if you're a fan of Lushs Twilight range I'd 100% recommend this one to you! As well as lavender Imperialis contains Brunello Lily Petals which are fantastic for helping to sooth the skin and acting as a anti-inflammatory, so if you suffer from sore red skin or acne this could be perfect for you.
Lip Care
I tend to get quite dry lips especially during the winter months. Here or a few of the product I use.
Okay so the lip balms/moisturisers are pretty self explanatory so I wont delve into those but I will tell you quickly about the Lush Lip scrub.
Bubble-gum Lip scrub has been a long term favourite of mine for many reasons, mainly for its amazing sweet smell!!
All you have to do is take a tiny amount of this product on to your finger and rub into your lips. That's it! not only does this smell heavenly but it tastes it too. All of Lushs lip scrubs are edible so you can just lick the product off when you're finished (or get somebody else to do it for you) ;) ;)
But if you don't fancy licking it off you can always take a wipe or cotton pad to remove the scrub.
I hope you found this blog helpful and maybe found some new products to try out.
Amiee xx
